Agentic AI Foundation

Yesterday, the Linux Foundation announced the creation of the Agentic AI Foundation, supported by contributions from Anthropic, Block and OpenAI, with the ambition to establish open standards for how AI agents communicate.
The initiative carries strong potential, with its focus on open protocols, neutral governance and the principle that funding should not translate into control. Yet, it raises important strategic questions for the industry.
The Internet’s most enduring standards, from TCP/IP to HTTP, were born in academic environments or public institutions with minimal commercial influence. Today, those shaping the next generation of AI infrastructure are the very companies leading the race to dominate the field. This invites reflection on whether genuinely neutral foundations can be created when the main contributors have a vested interest in the outcome.
Is it possible to define standards when the technological landscape is still rapidly evolving and key aspects of security, performance and architecture remain uncertain? Or is this accelerated pace the inevitable consequence of a world where innovation can no longer wait?
At Ephelia, we believe that open, secure and interoperable infrastructures are essential for the future of AI driven financial services. For this reason, in Q1 2026 we will introduce Streampay, our new solution that enables payments and collections through AI powered agents, designed to provide financial institutions and enterprises with a seamless and compliant way to integrate autonomous payment capabilities.
We look forward to contributing to a constructive dialogue on how emerging frameworks can enable responsible and scalable innovation.
We would welcome your perspectives.
